Al has been very busy with a wide range of acting projects recently. He has
filmed roles in many Feature Films, Commercials, Short Films and Corporates,
including playing Nigel in 'The Final', directed by Duncan Roe, for Seven Hill
Pictures; the Lord Chamberlain in Nike's global 'Write the Future', World Cup
commercial, featuring Wayne Rooney and directed by Hollywood's Alejandro Gonzalez
Innarritu (Babel, 21 Grams) for Independent Films; Bob in ex Top Gear director
Owen Trevor's 'Dead Ideas' for Streetlight Films UK Ltd. Various short films
and corporates and Al is about to appear as the Marine 'Doc' Corpsman in 'Operation
Chastity', an epic teaser trailer for the forthcoming Halo Feature Film, through
Snapshot Productions, directed by Peter Cooper.

The Feature Film and World BBC TV film 'The Real American: Joe McCarthy', directed by award winning Lutz Hachmeister for BBC/ZDF/Eikon Film/HDRA is about to be released, in which Al portray's McCarthy's Reporter opposite John Sessions who stars in the film.

London Ensemble
Al is co-director with David Schaal of The Real London Ensemble Theatre Company
(including many collaborations with the writer Michael Jones and Theatre director
Geoff Bullen and Chris Jury). The Real London Ensemble staged Al and David's
punk musical play, 'Reality Chokes' at the New Town Theatre, (Universal Arts),
Edinburgh directed by David Schaal, in 2009. The play had enjoyed a sell out
run in London in 2008 already and received very positive reviews
in Edinburgh, where it was also nominated for the MTMUK Theatre Awards. Al was
recently interviewed live by Tom Dunne on Newstalk: National Radio, Ireland
about the play and punk rock in general, having also appeared again as Dan in
the Edinburgh production.

Recent credits:
Al appeared as Bruce in 'Blue/Orange' by Joe Penhall at the Wimbledon Theatre in March 2008. The Olivier award winning play was originally performed at the National Theatre.
Al appeared as Andy Warhol in Foolish People's world premiere of 'Dead Language' directed by John Harrigan at the ICA Theatre in London's West End.

Al appeared recently in the Sky TV prime time chat show, 'The Boland Show',
as part of the live band Rip it Up. He took part in asking questions and bantering
with the celebrity guests (like George Gallaway etc) and the show's interviewer
Maurice Boland. He also played and produced the programme's theme tune and played
live guitar jingles, songs and guest intros.

Richard III - Kill the Messenger
Al trained in stage fighting at drama school where his tutors were Mike Loades
and John Waller, obtaining his certificate in stage combat in his final year
from Henry Marshall. After college, Al's enthusiasm for stage combat continued
and he incorporated the skills into a number of his television and theatre appearances,
while obtaining his advanced certificate from Steve Wilsher shortly after.
Since then, Al has worked extensively with Fight Directors - Jonathan Shelley,
(Fight Director at East 15 and Artistic Director of Workswell Productions),
Tim Klotz (Fight Director and director of Young Blood), Mike Loades, Derek Ware
and Peter Woodward. Over the last twenty years, he has appeared at a variety
of Theatres, Festivals, Manor Houses, historical locations and colleges around
the UK: eg;

Between 2002-5, Al appeared in 'Malvolio's Revenge', 'Kill the Messenger' and
'Alas Poor Yorick' at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham for Workswell Productions,
which tours challenging, Shakespearean/historical influenced plays, with a specialist
emphasis on both stage combat and physical theatre. Al worked with the Fight
Directors Jonathon Shelley and Tim Klotz in these productions.
In Television, Al has appeared in the pilot 'Men at Arms' (Tripal/Greystone) and the US Television series 'Conquest' (History Channel/Greystone) as a member of Peter Woodward's fight team, where he appeared as a Knight, a Musketeer, a 'Fop', a Roman guard, a Greek boxer, and 'La Chastaigneraye' - The French King, Henri II's, champion.
Conquest
Most recently, Al has directed the fights for an open air production of 'Romeo and Juliet' in the Jephson Gardens, Leamington, and 'Monsieur Venus' at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, directed by John Rolph.

ROLEPLAY/TRAININGFor the last ten years Al has worked extensively in the role play, communications acting field. He has worked for many roleplay companies:

- Robot Doc Communication Skills - Imperial College Al has also appeared in numerous training videos both for Corporate companies like Kaisen Consulting and ISL and in medical training videos for students and lecturers at Imperial College for example. He has also facilitated many role plays for Playout.
Nottingham Playhouse - A LITTLE WEAKNESS (Co-director) Al obtained a BA Honours in 'Theatre Arts' and his drama teaching has been varied. He has worked extensively in Theatre-in-Education, Colleges of Further Education and has even led workshops for the Italia Conti drama school. Last year he taught for Workswell Theatre in Education company, with
pupils form Twyford School in Hampshire on a production of various scenes
from some of Shakespeare's most popular plays. Al has also coached accent work for actors appearing in Sky Television's 'Dream Team'. HE ALSO DOES PRIVATE COACHING FOR prospective drama students for drama school entrance/auditions and can be contacted through the site for enquiries in this area.
